Senior Living Community Trend

Senior living community is relatively new, responding to changing demand and while even the industry to respond to the current economic recession, baby boomers create and respond to trends in various ways. A recent study conducted by Mather LifeWays of Life Services of Illinois in late 2008 revealed some interesting findings.



New model in the senior living communitiesBeacon Hill model, as described in the American Association of Retired Persons Magazine is an innovative program that allows people to stay in their homes and maintain their independence safely and comfortably. Beacon Hill Village in Boston is being embraced by the community with seniors across the country because the model as a full service concierge program aims to link older people in any neighborhood of the journey a doctor's office to house painting services, and free lectures exercise class. Members must live in the neighborhood and pay an annual fee. Beacon Hills Village program has sparked grassroots movement across the country.Trends can be seen in the survey that targets the operators and owners of this community. Mather Lifeways review describes the trends in senior living community which includes a selection of health and life-long learning and environmental considerations, such as the standard of living green. The survey also found that wireless technologies open up more opportunities to pursue a wealth of knowledge. At present, 22% of continuing care retirement community is offering a Web-based education, the amount is expected to surge to 69% within four years, while the supply of health, including classes and recreation, is expected to increase to 52%, up from 25 %. The survey also revealed that 35% of the senior community living providers are expected to comply with "green" new construction or renovation.
